Through the years my art has been photographing nature using realism and abstraction in combination. Nature is for the most part my subject, however I have also found much beauty in things we hardly notice, ie a cement floor, tactile objects for the blind, etc. With these photographs I play. They are combined, layered, lightened, darkened, reconstructed, and more, to make one cohesive collage. These playful pictures are only intended to please the eye, without meaning, or any intent to create a connection to reality.
While photos of nature are made to remember the scene in a way that one can reflect and enjoy the beauty of the place, there are also works about seeing the beauty in shapes, colors, textures and form. Taking ordinary objects and creating movement and abstraction.
